We look forward to providing the best possible service for your pet. We want to offer our customers the assurance that every effort is made to make them feel safe and secure during their grooming experience. 


  • Pets must be on a leash when entering or exiting the owners vehicle. No pets are permitted to run free inside the salon.

  • We take your pet's safety and comfort at Paw Avenue very seriously. To ensure the health and safety of your pet(s) and other guests, all pets receiving grooming at Paw Avenue must have an up-to-date Client Record on file. 


  • All pet parents must be reachable by phone during the time of their pets service so any questions or necessary changes can be communicated. If you are not able to answer your phone while you pet is here, it is best to schedule on a day where you can be reached.


A matted dog coat can become pelted when the fur is so tangled and matted.  


  • Pull on the skin -painful for dogs. 
  • Prevent airflow - Restricts airflow and prevents  the skin from getting fresh air and stimulation. 
  • Trap parasites -Fleas, ticks, maggots, and other parasites can get trapped in the matted fur. 
  • Cause skin issues -If left untreated, the skin can tear and become infected. The skin may also turn dark pink or red and develop open sores. 


  • It can be risky to shave a severely matted pet because you don’t know what’s underneath. Customers should be aware of the range of the risks that can occur from clipper irritation such as nasty hot spots, nicks, and even the animal jumping at the wrong time. There is a risk of hematomas once a badly-matted ear that hangs down is shaven. Once the ear leather has been freed of mats, sometimes the combination of a renewed blood supply and the animal shaking its head causes the ears to hit the head, resulting in blood rushing to the area and swelling, sometimes even seeping out the bottom. We do use happy hoodies and slowly release matts to reduce the risk of hematomas.

EAR CARE AND EAR HAIR REMOVAL (Plucking) 


  • All pets will have their ears cleaned with a mild ear cleaner. Ear hair will be not be removed unless you specify. If your pet has foul odors or redness in ear we will not be able to remove hair. Please consult with your veterinarian as they can diagnose the odors/redness and determine the best course of action.  


CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING

Please understand that when you forget or cancel an appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time. Clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive our services. Our groomers time is reserved specifically for your pet, there are no exceptions to this policy. The following fees and terms apply:

  •  NO fees are applied for cancellations or reschedules that have given 48 hours or more notice.
  • Cancellations or Reschedules giving less than 48 hours' notice will result in a charge equal to 25% of the reserved service amount.
  • No Shows or Cancellations will be charged 75% of the reserved service amount on the day of the appointment.

Grooming Experience Agreement & Care Commitment

Welcome to Paw Avenue.
We are honored that you’ve entrusted us with your pet. Our mission is to provide a calm, compassionate, and professional grooming experience in a safe and nurturing environment.

By scheduling or receiving grooming services (“Services”), you (“Owner”) agree to the following policies designed to protect your pet, our team, and our boutique space.


1. Your Pet, Your Responsibility

You confirm that you are the legal owner or authorized caretaker of the pet(s) presented for grooming and accept responsibility for all services provided.

All grooming services, specialty treatments, and applicable fees are the responsibility of the Owner.

2. Appointments & Boutique Scheduling

To maintain a peaceful environment and individualized attention:

• All services are by appointment only
• Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time
• Pets arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to be rescheduled

Most grooming appointments take approximately 4 hours for one pet. If multiple pets are scheduled, additional time may be required.

Once notified that your pet is ready, we kindly request pickup within 30 minutes to help maintain our schedule and minimize stress for pets awaiting pickup.

Pets not picked up by closing time without communication may be considered abandoned in accordance with Louisiana law.

3. Pricing Transparency

Our pricing reflects the time, care, and expertise dedicated to each pet.

All prices are starting rates and may vary based on:

• Size
• Coat condition
• Temperament
• Time and additional care required

Final pricing is determined after your pet’s in-person assessment.

4. Coat Care & Matting Policy

Your pet’s comfort always comes first.

Severely matted coats can cause pain, skin irritation, and underlying health concerns. In these cases, shaving may be the most humane and compassionate option.

Please understand:

• Removing matting may reveal pre-existing irritation, sores, or skin conditions
• Some redness or sensitivity may occur after shaving
• Additional time and care will affect pricing

By proceeding with grooming, you acknowledge these risks and understand that Paw Avenue cannot be responsible for conditions that were pre-existing or hidden beneath matting, except in cases of gross negligence under Louisiana law.

5. Flea & Tick Care

For the protection of all pets in our boutique:

If live fleas or ticks are discovered, a fast-acting treatment will be administered.

A $25 treatment fee will apply, and additional bathing or sanitation charges may be necessary in severe cases.

6. Health & Wellness Disclosure

Your pet’s safety depends on open communication.

Please inform us of:

• Medical conditions
• Medications
• Allergies
• Anxiety or behavioral concerns
• Bite history

Proof of current Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations is required.

Grooming can be mildly stressful, particularly for seniors or pets with medical conditions. We take every precaution to provide a calm experience.

7. Veterinary Care Authorization

In the unlikely event of illness or injury while in our care, and if you cannot be reached promptly, you authorize Paw Avenue to seek veterinary care.

You agree to be responsible for any veterinary costs incurred.

8. Understanding Grooming Risks

While we prioritize safety and gentle handling, grooming does carry inherent risks, including:

• Minor nicks or cuts
• Skin irritation
• Stress reactions
• Exposure of underlying conditions

By signing below, you acknowledge these possibilities and agree that Paw Avenue will not be held liable for ordinary grooming-related incidents, except in cases of gross fault or intentional misconduct as defined under Louisiana law.

9. Cancellation Courtesy

To respect the time reserved exclusively for your pet:

48+ hours notice: No charge
Less than 48 hours notice: 25% of service
Same-day cancellation or no-show: 75% of service

Payment methods on file may be charged accordingly.

10. Photography

We love celebrating our clients!
Your pet may be photographed for social media or boutique marketing. If you prefer not to participate, please let us know in writing.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana.

12. Our Commitment

Paw Avenue is committed to providing skilled, compassionate grooming in a boutique setting that prioritizes safety, comfort, and professionalism.

This document represents the full understanding between Paw Avenue and the Owner.
